CPU Daughter Card Replacement
To replace the CPU Daughter Card refer to the figure, and perform the following procedure:
- Put on your ESD wriststrap.
- Shut down the system and remove power.
- Remove the system cover.
- Grasp the extractor brackets (1) in the middle, and pull them out and apart from each other to unseat the CPU Daughter Card from its connector on the MLB.
- Carefully pull the CPU Daughter Card straight out from the enclosure; the edges are supported by a slot in the fan pipe on left, and a slot in the enclosure on the right side. The card is supported underneath on the right side by a dowel set in from the rear of the enclosure.
- Reverse the steps above to install the replacement CPU Daughter Card.
- Be sure to seat the card securely into its slot on the MLB.
- Close and latch the extractor brackets so that the left bracket overlaps the right one. The tab on the left bracket should be seated in the slot on the right bracket.
